Medical Coding and Billing Specialist STC

Students will gain the skills needed to accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes that directly impact medical reimbursement. Training includes the use of ICD-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems, along with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, insurance claim processing, and reimbursement practices. Graduates will be eligible to sit for the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exams.

Career Outlook

This certificate program prepares students for entry-level positions in medical coding and billing within physician offices, healthcare clinics, insurance companies, and outpatient billing services.
