Prepares students for children’s cognitive, social, physical, emotional, and language development from early childhood through adolescence. Students will learn skills and strategies to respond to various risk behaviours and balance care responsibilities safely. It can be difficult to understand children’s language, so graduates of this program will learn effective reading and writing strategies, parental involvement, and reading-writing connections.
With the Education Assistant Diploma course, students will grasp numeracy as well, an essential aspect applied to students’ daily activities. Students will be able to practice their learning skills during their practicum. During their capstone career prep, students will work with a professional career counsellor to develop and optimize a professional resume to entice prospective employers.
